Our scoring system
Every product receives a score from 0–100, calculated from five weighted criteria. Scores are assigned based on aggregated research: expert publications, verified customer reviews, independent lab reports where available, and manufacturer specifications.
Performance
Does the product do what it claims? We evaluate core function against stated specs and compare against category benchmarks.
Value
Price-to-performance ratio. A $30 product that outperforms $80 alternatives scores higher than the more expensive option.
Build Quality
Materials, durability, and long-term reliability. Informed by customer reviews over 6–12 months of real-world use.
User Experience
Setup, ease of use, and day-to-day satisfaction. Aggregated from thousands of verified buyer reviews.
Brand & Support
Warranty terms, customer service reputation, and the brand’s track record for standing behind their products.
Score ranges explained
90–100 — Exceptional. Best-in-class. Buy with confidence.
80–89 — Excellent. Strong performer with minor trade-offs. Recommended for most buyers.
70–79 — Good. Solid option with notable limitations. Best for specific use cases or budgets.
60–69 — Average. Meets basic needs but outclassed by alternatives at similar price points.
Below 60 — Not recommended. We include these for completeness and comparison — not as buying advice.
Research methodology
Our research process for each review follows a consistent four-step framework:

Update policy
Markets move fast. We review and update our rankings quarterly, or sooner when significant new products launch, prices change materially, or reliability issues emerge. Every page displays its last updated date so you always know how fresh the information is.
